Details Built in 1907, the Hotel Plaza Camagüey is right in front of the city’s train station. It is considered to be the oldest active Camagüey hotel and still preserves most of its original architectural features. Among the most curious events in its more than a century of existence are the visit of the Chilean poet Gabriela Mistral to its facilities and the original location of the first radio station outside the Cuban capital. A must-see site in the city, it is characterized by the familiar treatment of its employees and its excellent geographical location, right at the confluence of two main access roads to the city and a few meters from the commercial area. The lobby has two bars, one with air conditioning, while the Pergola Bar has high ceilings, skylights on the roof where sunlight passes through, and slow-moving ceiling fans.
